A route through decisions that affect one another
The Roadmap is for parents who expect to move to Germany within the next twelve months and need to understand how housing, catchment areas, school type, childcare availability and language support fit together. It is particularly useful before a home search or before municipal registration.
You receive a questionnaire five working days before the call. We ask about each child’s age, current curriculum, languages, additional learning considerations, likely destination and timing. Please do not send report cards, passports or medical records.
What the consultation includes
During the 90-minute video call, an education relocation adviser explains the relevant state and municipal routes in plain English. Together we identify the decisions that must happen before arrival, those that require a German address and those that can wait.
Your written Roadmap arrives within three working days and includes:
- a comparison of suitable public, private and international routes;
- questions to ask schools, Schulamt offices and Kita providers;
- a document and registration checklist;
- a realistic sequence for applications, visits and follow-up;
- notes on newcomer language support where relevant; and
- fourteen calendar days of email clarification.
The fee does not include school placement, guaranteed Kita admission, translation, legal advice, applications submitted on your behalf or assessments of special educational needs. Admissions remain with the responsible institution or authority.
Before and after the call
Bring your likely postcode areas, any fixed work start date and the school calendars your children currently follow. If a city is not yet chosen, we can compare up to two destinations at a high level, but a detailed institution shortlist requires a separate review.
After delivery, work through the actions in order. Use the follow-up period for short questions about the recommendations; a changed city or substantially changed family brief may require a new session.
Is this the right point to begin?
The Roadmap works best when you have at least a destination city or region and an approximate arrival month. If your move is less than four weeks away, mention that in your enquiry so we can assess whether there is enough time to offer useful support.
